Student in 4th grade create guitar sculptures inspired by Pablo Picasso.

Last month, 4th grade students in Ms. Appel’s art class learned about Pablo Picasso and his sculptures in order to create their very own cardboard guitars. Students used a variety of techniques to create their final works of art from painting to collage as well as creating a sculpture out of recycled materials. Students used colors to portray different emotions and feelings as well as collage elements in their work just like Picasso did. They used broken down pieces from cardboard boxes and toilet paper tubes to create a relief sculpture of a guitar and learned about the importance of reusing and recycling materials to make something new!
