    Office Hours allows individuals the opportunity to meet with two members of the Board in a private setting to discuss issues and concerns.  Office Hours can be scheduled with the District Clerk, Mary Ellen Chiera, at 914-777-5252 prior to 4:00 p.m. on the Friday before the scheduled Board of Education Planning Session.

    Rebecca Mansell, President
    Term Expires: 2024
        Rebecca is starting her third year of Board service and is the President of the Board. A graduate of Brown University and Bank Street College of Education, Rebecca has had a long career in education. She spent nearly twenty years working in a public school in Manhattan, both as an eighth-grade teacher and guidance counselor. Rebecca has run mental health workshops for middle schoolers at Hommocks through the Larchmont/Mamaroneck Community Counseling Center and volunteers as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), working with children in the foster care system. Currently, Rebecca is finishing her certificate in college counseling through UCLA.
         Rebecca was the chair of the Rye Neck PTSA Advocacy Committee and has served as class parent for each of her three daughters.

    Erica Wagner, Vice President
    Term Expires: 2026
         This is Erica’s first year on the Board. She will serve on the Special Services and DEI committees and will represent Rye Neck on the Westchester-Putnam School Board Association.

         A graduate of the University of Florida, Erica celebrated a successful career in sales and marketing in both sports and publishing fields. Erica also co-founded SnackRiot, which shipped healthy snack boxes to subscribers and corporations across the country.
         Erica has been a proud member of the Rye Neck community for over ten years, where she has done everything from serving as a class parent, to holding numerous positions within the PTSA and Booster Club, to serving on the Elementary and Middle School PACs. Her engagement across the district allowed her to get to know our community and learn first-hand what resonates with parents and what concerns are top of mind. Erica and her husband Greg are raising their three children in the district.

    Patty Nashelsky, Trustee
    Term Expires: 2024
         Patty is in her 9th year as Board Trustee.  She served as President for the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 school years.  She currently serves on the Policy Committee and Curriculum Team, as well as the representative to the BOCES Board.

         Patty graduated from Siena College with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science and Hofstra University School of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree.  She was a practicing attorney for 10 years before deciding to stay home to raise her four sons, all of whom graduated from Rye Neck.

    Gloria Golle, Trustee
    Term Expires: 2025  
         Gloria is in the second year of her second term as a trustee. In her tenure on the Rye Neck Board of Education, Gloria has served as President, Vice President, a representative on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, Policy Committee, Facilities Committee, Safety Committee, Gold Card Club, and was a district representative for the Westchester-Putnam School Boards Association.   

         Prior to being elected to the Board in 2019, Gloria served on the PTSA in various roles and was President of the PTSA for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years. In addition, Gloria served on several school committees where she advocated for the shared needs of both the district and the community. Gloria is a life-long resident and alumna. She holds a Bachelor's degree in psychology from Hofstra University. Gloria and her husband Martin, also a Rye Neck graduate, have two children in the district.

    Elizabeth Yong, Trustee
    Term Expires: 2025
         Elizabeth and her husband Ping have lived in Rye Neck with their three children since 2019. This is her second year as a trustee where she is on the Audit Committee and Policy Committee, as well as a liaison for Special Services.

         In addition, Elizabeth is a member of the Rye Neck International Committee and an active volunteer in Mamaroneck and beyond. Previously, she worked for 10 years in asset management. She is a proud product of New York public schools in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Syosset, graduating with a B.A. from Yale University in Economics and East Asian Studies, and brings over 20 years of experience as a volunteer both at globally recognized schools and as an adult educator.

    Jason Carmel, Trustee
    Term Expires: 2026
         Jason Carmel, MD, PhD has been a Rye Neck Resident since 2012. He and his wife Amanda have 3 children. He is a member of the Audit Committee and the Mental Health and School Safety Teams. He has served on the High School Principal’s Advisory Committee and has given science lectures to the high school for the last 5 years.

         Professionally, he is a neurologist and neuroscientist at Columbia University Medical Center. He graduated from Stanford (BS, human biology), Rutgers (PhD, neuroscience) and Columbia (MD, medicine) Universities. He directs the Weinberg Family Cerebral Palsy Center and the Movement Recovery Laboratory and serves on the board of the American Society for Neurorehabilitation and the Cerebral Palsy Research Network. He has fiduciary responsibility for these organizations and BackStop Neural, a company he co-founded. He treats patients whose goal is recovery of movement. He teaches medical students and neurology residents about nervous system injury and repair. On weekends, Jason can be found rooting at his kids’ athletic events, riding his bicycle with neighbors, and assisting Amanda in their garden. He is thrilled to help Rye Neck achieve its full potential.
