Don't forget to create an eSchool Parent Portal account so you can complete the digital equity survey.

Dear Elementary Families,

To ensure digital equity for all New York students, the State Education Department (NYSED) has released a brief 9-question survey about your child's access to technology.  Identifying student digital equity is essential for understanding, investigating, and promoting educational equity.  The questions provided by NYSED focus on availability and sharing of devices, and internet access and reliability.
Due to the state’s data collection process, the survey is only accessible through the eSchool Parent Portal, so it is important that you create your new eSchool portal account.  Your account will give you 24/7 access to your child's academic information, such as report cards and attendance.  For more information about how to set up an account, please visit our district and school webpages under the “For Families” section and click on Parent Portal.  Please contact Matt Madera at mmadera@ryeneck.org or your school's main office if you have any questions setting up or accessing your parent portal.
Once you create your parent portal account, please complete the survey for every child you have in our district.
We thank you for your participation and attention to this.  As we progress through our own DEI process, it is important to recognize the many ways diversity, equity, and inclusion manifests itself in the school environment.

Please see additional information about using an eSchool account in the Elementary eSchools Letter sent home recently.
