Term Expires: 2027
     This is Halli’s second year on the Board. She will serve on the Special Services Committee, Facilities Committee and will act as a Community Partners representative. 
     Prior to being elected to the Board, Halli served as the PTSA VP of Daniel Warren, VP of FE Bellows, VP of Fundraising and Corresponding Secretary. She has also sat on the facilities committee that helped form RN’s capital improvement bond, participated on many Principal Advisory Committees and is an active member of the RN Booster Club.
     Halli graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a BA in communications. She has been an active member of the RN community for over 12 years and has three children currently in the district.

     Jason Carmel, MD, PhD has been a Rye Neck Resident since 2012. He and his wife Amanda have 3 children. He is a member of the Audit Committee and the Mental Health and School Safety Teams. He has served on the High School Principal’s Advisory Committee and has given science lectures to the high school for the last 5 years.
     Professionally, he is a neurologist and neuroscientist at Columbia University Medical Center. He graduated from Stanford (BS, human biology), Rutgers (PhD, neuroscience) and Columbia (MD, medicine) Universities. He directs the Weinberg Family Cerebral Palsy Center and the Movement Recovery Laboratory and serves on the board of the American Society for Neurorehabilitation and the Cerebral Palsy Research Network. He has fiduciary responsibility for these organizations and BackStop Neural, a company he co-founded. He treats patients whose goal is recovery of movement. He teaches medical students and neurology residents about nervous system injury and repair. On weekends, Jason can be found rooting at his kids’ athletic events, riding his bicycle with neighbors, and assisting Amanda in their garden. He is thrilled to help Rye Neck achieve its full potential.

     Ruth Homberg has been a Rye Neck Resident since 2016. During the 2025-2026 school year, she will serve on the Policy Committee, and as a representative to the district’s Community Partners. She will also represent the district on the Westchester-Putnam school Boards’ Association.
     A graduate of Gettysburg College, Ruth also holds an MFA from the New School in New York. She has spent over 20 years working in the children’s book publishing industry in both New York and London.
     Here in Rye Neck, Ruth has just completed a 2 year-term as President of the PTSA, where she led a dedicated team of volunteers and prioritized collaboration. Additionally, she has sat on the Elementary School Principal’s Advisory Committee and has been a community liaison to the district’s Safety Committee.
     Ruth and her husband Peter have 2 children currently in the school district. She is excited for the opportunity to continue to be a positive voice for the students.

     Alex is starting his first year of Board service and will serve on the Tech and Audit Committees. He will also represent our district on the Westchester-Putnam School Boards' Association.
     Alex grew up in New York City and graduated from Trinity College (BA, Philosophy) and  New York University (MPS, Interactive Telecommunications). He has more than 25 years of experience building digital products at a variety of consumer technology companies—from founding his own startup to leading teams at larger organizations like Google and The New York Times.
     Alex and his family have been proud members of the Rye Neck community since 2013. In his free time, Alex loves to catch his kids’ soccer matches, track meets, and theater performances, take long walks in the morning with his dogs and catch a movie at our local theater. Alex is excited about the opportunity to serve as a Board Trustee in service of our children and community.
