The production of art and the process by which it is made, whether it is creating a piece of visual art or performing through music or theatre, allows children to develop their creativity in ways that cannot be matched by other subjects. Our goals as educators in the unified arts department include fostering a spirit of creativity and joy, while providing enriching experiences in the arts, that build confidence in our students. We encourage personal expression, curiosity and risk-taking and believe it is important for all children K-12  to study the arts. We enjoy sharing our experiences with students and exposing them to artists, movements and techniques while teaching them skills necessary to be successful in each area of the arts.  We continue to connect real world experiences to the arts and show students how they can connect the arts to their future. We hope our students will have a life-long appreciation of the arts and can learn self expression while discovering something about themselves during the process.
