A group of nine students from Rye Neck High School recently spent their spring break exploring four different cities in Spain.

Ryan Busby, Jasmine Cores, Zachary DiPalermo, Milo Haviland, Ida Henriksson, Sirsha O’Day, Katelyn Sansotta, Isabella Vidales and Elise Young were chaperoned by teachers Angie Garcia and Rosina Martinelli. During their trip, they visited the Prado Museum in Madrid, took a walk to the Palacio Real, tasted traditional Spanish dishes and took a cooking class in Toledo.

“Driving through the countryside of Toledo, the students were able to appreciate the gorgeous scenery that Spain has to offer,” Martinelli said. “In Granada, they took in the marvelous architecture of La Alhambra and danced the evening away by taking a flamenco dance class, where they also watched a show.”

As their last stop, the group of students and teachers explored Barcelona, where they lounged on the beach, shopped and visited La Sagrada Familia church. Martinelli added that the students enjoyed the experience because it allowed them to experience the culture firsthand.
